The Person:

This is a fantastic opportunity for joinery professional to make a career change; down with the “tools” and into the classroom to share their knowledge and expertise influencing the next generation of skilled joiners. Your specialism will be in site or bench joinery. You may also be an experienced tutor or assessor, looking for a change or a new challenge. Whatever your rationale, this role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. Job Purpose             

To be responsible for teaching on a range of further education courses and the development of a specific subject area, the leadership of a programme of study, classroom or lecture management, lesson preparation and marking.

In line with qualification/experience, to be responsible for specific subject development, significant research/consultancy activity, master classes, course verification, co-ordinating course teams and course leadership.

To be responsible for the use of appropriate assessment methods, the achievement of learning and teaching goals and the recording of learner activity.

You’ll have:

  • Level 3 qualification in Joinery or Levels 1-3 trade qualification
  • Teaching qualification is ideal
  • DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one)
