Apply nowYou could be in a full time permanent position teaching Mechanical and Electrical Engineering courses in a further education College that gives you ongoing training and development to help you progress in your career, and the opportunity to achieve a PGCE through the college in your first three years.
This is an exciting new opportunity to work alongside a prestigious ‘blue chip’ retailer, developing a new course in partnership, lecturing, and assessing employed adult students. You will be welcomed and supported in a large, diverse engineering department with excellent facilities and resources.
You will be teaching and assessing practical Engineering Maintenance subjects, supported, and underpinned by theory delivery for both levels 2 and 3. Preparing, delivering and assessing for the following subjects: Electrical and Electronic Principles in Engineering, Electro, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems and Devices, Maintenance of Mechanical Systems, Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment, Maintaining fluid power equipment, Maintaining electrical equipment/systems & Wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits.
You will also undertake course leadership and curriculum development duties within the department, and the role provides a flexible working opportunity.
You’ll hold a Level 3 Qualification in an Engineering, Mechatronics, or Maintenance discipline or a professional industrial qualification within the sector, alongside relevant industrial experience.
Teaching/mentoring experience is desirable, and you must have a positive approach to working in innovative ways and with the wider engineering team.
With excellent IT and communication skills, you’ll be committed to inspiring the next generation of maintenance engineers.
Even if you’re not an experienced teacher, the college will support you in your career to achieve a teaching qualification.
£32,238 – £39,620 per annum + Introductory Bonus worth £8,000 Upon Starting
