Protocol are excited to be working with a Higher Education Institution based in UAE who have now expanded to the UK and have two campuses located in London. 

This role is to start by January 2025.

 

Job Title: Head of International

Full time and Permanent 

The Head of International will lead the university’s global engagement strategy, driving internationalization initiatives, partnerships, and student recruitment efforts. This role is pivotal in enhancing the university’s global profile, developing strategic international alliances, and ensuring the delivery of world-class services to international students, staff, and partners. The Head of International will work closely with senior leadership, academic departments, and external stakeholders to advance the university’s mission of becoming a leader in global education.

You will have a focus on South Asia, Africa, India, Poland, Hungary and Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive international strategy that aligns with the university’s overall vision and goals.
  • Identify new opportunities for international collaboration, partnerships, and student recruitment.
  • Lead the planning and execution of international projects and initiatives, ensuring effective coordination across departments.
  • International Partnerships and Collaborations:
    • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions, governments, and industry partners worldwide.
    • Negotiate and manage international agreements, including Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), exchange agreements, and dual degree programs.
    • Represent the university at international forums, conferences, and meetings to promote institutional interests.
  • Student Recruitment and Mobility:
    • Oversee the international student recruitment strategy, working closely with marketing and admissions teams to achieve enrollment targets.
    • Enhance international mobility programs, including student exchanges, study abroad opportunities, and internships.
    • Ensure high-quality support services for international students, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Global Engagement and Outreach:
    • Lead initiatives to internationalize the curriculum, promoting intercultural competencies among students and staff.
    • Develop and manage programs that increase the university’s global visibility, such as international alumni networks and global research collaborations.
    • Collaborate with academic departments to support the development of transnational education (TNE) programs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with international regulatory requirements, visa regulations, and institutional policies related to international activities.
    • Manage risks associated with international operations, including financial, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing international team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
    • Manage the international office budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support strategic priorities.
