BSL Interpreter, South Yorkshire

Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in South Yorkshire in their search for an experienced BSL Interpreter. 

The role.

This role is offering Monday to Friday hours on a temporary basis.

• To provide BSL interpretation in classes and around College as required by student.
• To work across all College sites as required and be available to perform duties between the hours of 8 am and 9pm, if so required.
• To contribute to a programme of activities and support designed to: Remove barriers to learning, assist students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, encourage active participation in learning and support retention and achievement.
• To attend regular monitoring and planning meetings with the line manager and attend appropriate training as identified.
• To contribute to the student support planning process.
• To undertake reviews with students.
• To support access arrangements for exams.
• To liaise with tutors and other support staff about student support needs including guidance and training.
• To contribute to College CPD training and development for staff.
• To complete all relevant administration.

The person.
We are therefore seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting others. The individual will have experience working with students or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting whilst being upbeat, motivational and knowledgeable in the subject area in order to educate and inspire learners.

Have you got what it takes?

• Level 3 BSL 

• Has good written and oral communication skills at GCSE level (or be willing to work towards them)

• DBS on the update service.
