Lecturer in IT Computer Science

Location: Romford, London

Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in IT Computer Science to join our dynamic team and contribute to the academic growth and success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Computer Science from Level 1 to Level 5, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
  • Technical Skills: Utilize and demonstrate strong technical skills in C Sharp, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CISCO (with CCNA Qualification), and CompTIA.
  • Student Engagement: Motivate and inspire learners, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Computer Science curriculum.
  • Assessment: Design, administer, and grade assessments to monitor and evaluate student progress.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Teaching Qualification: Possess a PGCE, QTS, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of teaching experience in Computer Science.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in relevant programming languages and IT certifications.

Desirable Experience:

  • Further Education Experience: Previous experience working in a Further Education (FE) College setting.
  • Educational Establishment Experience: Experience working within an educational institution.

Working Hours:

  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week, typically divided into 23 hours of teaching and 13 hours of administrative duties (subject to confirmation).
  • Timetable: Specific working hours to be confirmed.

Contract and Salary:

  • Contract Type: Permanent position starting as soon as possible.
  • Salary Range: £24,872 – £26,194 for unqualified teachers; £27,591 – £43,440 for qualified teachers.
  • Market Supplement: This post attracts a market supplement, with the rate to be confirmed upon appointment.

Interview Details:

  • Interview Format: Face-to-face interviews will be conducted as soon as possible.
  • Location: Interviews will take place at the college campus, with free visitor parking available. Upon arrival, candidates should sign in at the Main Reception to receive an ID badge. The campus coffee shop is available for use, accepting both cash and card payments.
