Apply nowProtocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in South Shields in their search for an experienced Fabrication and Welding Tutor.
The role;
The role is to teach and assess specialist units in Fabrication and Welding qualifications. This includes maintaining discipline, safe working practices, communication skills and working efficiently and effectively. You will have full responsibility for allocated learners to ensure retention, progression and achievement. You will be delivering underpinning knowledge and coaching, producing learning plans and schemes of work where relevant.
As part of your role, you will work with groups of engineering learners and deliver practical training within the dedicated workshops on fabrication and welding processes. In addition to the practical delivery, you will be responsible for delivery of the underpinning theory in a classroom setting.
This may be on subjects such as Health & Safety, Materials, Fabrication Principles, Welding Principles, to further develop learners understanding and ability.
The person;
We are therefore seeking individuals that are passionate about Fabrication and Welding and that have relevant experience in both educational and industry fields. The individual will also have experience working with students or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting whilst being upbeat, motivational and knowledgeable in the subject area in order to educate and inspire learners.
Have you got what it takes?
- A level 3 qualification in Fabrication and Welding
- A teaching qualification
- An Assessors Award
- Experience delivering/ Assessing Fabrication and Welding at a range of levels
