Interim SEND Facilitator – Product Enterprise

Location: Brighton

Salary: £25,476 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (Term time only)

Reporting to: Deputy Head

About Us: Protocol are working with an FE College supporting autistic individuals, many of whom also have learning disabilities. They support learners with additional conditions such as epilepsy, sensory impairments, and mental health needs. With a curriculum that is tailored to each learner’s strengths, interests, and challenges. The college is accredited by the National Autistic Society (NAS) and focuses on social communication, self-reliance, sensory processing, and emotional well-being.

Role Purpose: The Interim SEND Facilitator will plan and deliver a high-quality program that helps learners engage with product design, creation, and entrepreneurship. This role involves creating inclusive lesson plans, providing tailored support, and fostering an environment where all learners can succeed in entrepreneurial activities using resistant materials or art mediums.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver accredited and non-accredited Product Enterprise courses at pre-entry, entry, and level 1.
  • Prepare schemes of work and resources that meet learners’ needs.
  • Foster a creative and entrepreneurial mindset among learners.
  • Ensure safe working practices in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Monitor and support learners’ progress, promoting their communication, social skills, independence, and employability.
  • Collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to support learners’ mental health and complex needs.
  • Conduct initial baseline assessments and track progress for both accredited and non-accredited programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of learners’ work and portfolios.
  • Use organizational MIS to record and monitor learner progress.
  • Contribute to quality processes related to accreditations in Product Enterprise.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum C Grade in Maths and English.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and learners with Autism Spectrum Condition and complex needs.
  • Knowledge of enhancing learners’ social and personal development.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to develop knowledge and understanding around behavior support.
