We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspiring Teacher of English who is passionate about learning and teaching English at GCSE and Functional Skills Level. Experience of teaching ESOL is desirable but not essential.

Teaching up to 28 hours per week – 23 teaching and 5 admin.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a range of students to develop their English skills and qualifications.
  • Liaise closely with curriculum teams to ensure effective and timely student progress.
  • Counsel students and maintain positive behaviours.
  • Participate in curriculum development to meet changing demands and college planning.

The role.
You will be working within the college, supporting, teaching, training and assessing students in English. You will be responsible for assessing and marking student work and carrying out student tutorials and assessments to ensure each student is achieving their best during their time in the college.

The person;
We are therefore seeking individuals who are passionate about English and that have relevant experience in both educational and industry fields. The individual will also have experience working with students or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting whilst being upbeat, motivational and knowledgeable in the subject area to educate and inspire learners.

  • Hold a DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
