Job Title: Culinary Arts Apprenticeship IQA

Location:

East of England, Cambridgeshire-based College

Job Type:

Part-Time – Approximately 45 hours over the academic year 24/25

Salary:

£22.26 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Job Duties:

  • Conduct assessments and reviews of Culinary Arts Apprenticeship programmes
  • Ensure apprentices meet required standards and competencies
  • Provide constructive feedback to apprentices and trainers
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments and progress
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Assessor Qualification (A1, D32/33, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent)
  • Appropriate industry qualifications (Catering and Hospitality) to Level 3 or above are essential.
  • An IQA qualification is essential
  • Relevant experience in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Education:

Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Culinary Arts or related discipline

Experience:

  • Proven experience in assessing Vocational qualifications in Culinary Arts
  • Current occupational competency in Catering and Hospitality is essential.
  • Prior experience in a similar training role is essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of assessment and quality assurance procedures
  • Knowledge of current industry practices and regulations
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and support to apprentices
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, organised, motivated and a team player.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule over the 24/25 academic year
  • Work mainly in educational settings or training institutions
  • Will need to be able to work flexibly when required including evening, weekend and summer holiday periods
  • Will need to have a current driving license, and be willing to use own car, insured for business use, or alternative means to travel.
