Role: ESOL Lecturer

Location: Romford, London
Working Hours per Week: 18.5 hours

• Teaching: 12 hours
• Admin: 6.5 hours

Timetable:

• Monday: 09:30 – 14:30
• Wednesday: 09:30 – 14:30
• Thursday: 09:30 – 12:30
  (Admin hours to be worked around the lecturing timetable)

Cover Type: Sickness cover (currently until 14/02/2025)
Ideal Start Date: As soon as possible

Essential Skills and Abilities:

• Qualified teacher with one of the following qualifications: PGCE, QTS, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
• Experience teaching ESOL in an FE College.
• Experience preparing lesson plans and resources.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience working in an FE College setting.
• Experience working in an educational establishment.

Responsibilities:

1. Teaching:

   • Deliver engaging and effective ESOL lessons to students.
   • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
   • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

2. Student Support:

   • Provide academic support and guidance to students.
   • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and additional help as needed.
   • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

3. Administrative Duties:

   • Prepare and maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
   • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
   • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

4. Resource Management:

   • Develop and organize teaching materials and resources.
   • Ensure that all resources are used effectively and efficiently.

5. Compliance:

   • Adhere to college policies and procedures.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant educational standards and regulations.
