Role: ESOL Lecturer
Location: Romford, London
Working Hours per Week: 18.5 hours
- Teaching: 12 hours
- Admin: 6.5 hours
Timetable:
- Monday: 09:30 – 14:30
- Wednesday: 09:30 – 14:30
- Thursday: 09:30 – 12:30
(Admin hours to be worked around the lecturing timetable)
Cover Type: Sickness cover (currently until 14/02/2025)
Ideal Start Date: As soon as possible
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Qualified teacher with one of the following qualifications: PGCE, QTS, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
- Experience teaching ESOL in an FE College.
- Experience preparing lesson plans and resources.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in an FE College setting.
- Experience working in an educational establishment.
Responsibilities:

Teaching:
- Deliver engaging and effective ESOL lessons to students.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

Student Support:
- Provide academic support and guidance to students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and additional help as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

Resource Management:
- Develop and organize teaching materials and resources.
- Ensure that all resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Compliance:
- Adhere to college policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant educational standards and regulations.
