About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Biology & Chemistry Lecturer to join an FE College based in Leicestershire. This full-time, temporary position involves delivering high-quality GCSE Biology & Chemistry and BTEC Level 3 Applied Science courses. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students, fostering a love for biology and scientific inquiry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lectures on GCSE Biology & Chemistry and BTEC Level 3 Applied Science topics.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject area and incorporate current scientific developments into teaching.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and participate in departmental meetings.
- Support students in their academic and personal development, offering guidance and mentorship.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree or PhD in Biology or Chemistry or a related field (preferred).
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or equivalent experience.
- Experience teaching A Level Biology or Chemistry and/or Applied Science courses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
