Location: Hull
Salary: £18,493.18 per annum OR £30 – £35 per hour + Holiday pay
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Overview of the Role:
The Skills Coach – Civil Engineering will play a key role in guiding and supporting learners in the civil engineering field. This role involves the induction, training, assessment, and mentoring of apprentices as they develop essential skills and knowledge for their careers. The successful candidate will work closely with learners and employers, ensuring that apprenticeship programs meet both educational and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to learners and employers, helping them navigate work-based programs and apprenticeship frameworks.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with employers to ensure the successful delivery and outcomes of apprenticeship programs.
- Represent the institution at regional events and promotional activities to highlight apprenticeship opportunities.
- Deliver structured training and assessments, tailored to meet the specific needs of learners and employers.
- Regularly monitor and track learner progress, providing additional support where necessary to ensure goals are met, including any required functional skills.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages diversity and individual growth.
- Promote and adhere to safeguarding procedures to ensure the well-being of all learners.
Key Requirements:
- A relevant Level 4 or higher qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
- An assessor qualification (or a commitment to obtaining one).
- Proven experience in the civil engineering sector, with up-to-date knowledge of the industry.
- A solid understanding of Apprenticeship Funding rules and the Apprenticeship Levy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competency with IT tools and systems, along with a willingness to travel as required for learning and assessment purposes.
