Learning Support Assistant

FE College based in Scunthorpe
Temporary, reviewed termly
Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 3-5 days per week (Flexible days)
Hourly Rate: £12-£14 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis, with the potential for extension each term. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive role within an educational setting, assisting students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a supporting role, either within a college or educational environment, or have experience working with students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities.

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and engage fully in lessons.
• Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and provide support tailored to student needs.
• Support students with SEND or behavioural issues, using strategies to encourage positive behaviour and academic engagement.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Requirements.

• Previous experience in an educational or support role, particularly with SEND or behavioural issues, is highly desirable.
• Passion for helping students achieve their potential and supporting their personal development.
• Flexibility in working hours (3-5 days per week) and a willingness to adapt to termly reviews of the role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.

Salary: £12-£14 per hour, depending on experience.
