Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Functional Skills Maths Teacher to join our team at a Further Education College in Brighton. This role involves providing excellent and effective teaching and learning in Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. The successful candidate will deliver sessions that employ dynamic and creative teaching methods, enabling learners with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills Maths lessons from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
- Employ innovative and dynamic teaching methods tailored to the needs of learners with ASC and complex needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them reach their goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of the needs of learners with ASC and complex needs.
- Ability to employ innovative and dynamic teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and the college.
