About the Role:
The Protocol Group are proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious Further Education (FE) college based in Bury, to recruit an experienced and qualified Interpreter Assessor. This is an exciting opportunity to assess learners on the Level 1 Award in Understanding Community Interpreting, a course designed to prepare individuals for professional interpreting roles within community settings.
This flexible, remote role is ideal for professionals with a background in community interpreting and experience in assessing adult learners.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess learners enrolled on the Level 1 Award in Understanding Community Interpreting.

Provide high-quality feedback and guidance throughout the learner journey.

Ensure all assessments are carried out in line with awarding body standards and internal quality assurance processes.

Maintain up-to-date records of learner progress and assessment outcomes.

Collaborate with delivery staff and the college’s quality assurance team.

Support learners remotely, using platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
Essential Criteria:

A recognised assessing qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, D32/33).

Proven experience in community interpreting or a related field.

Strong understanding of the Level 1 Interpreting Award learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Ability to assess and support learners remotely.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Competent with digital tools used for online learning and assessment.
Desirable:

IQA qualification (or working towards).

Experience working in Further Education or adult education settings.

Based in or near Bury (not essential, but preferred for local learner engagement).
